LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., November 17, 2015—MechoSystems, the world’s foremost provider of commercial WindowManagement^® solutions, has designed a ShadeLoc zipper-shade system that accommodates multi-banding.

Multi-banding is the practice of driving multiple shades (or “shade bands”) with a single motor or, in the case of manual shades, a single drive chain. Multi-banding reduces the overall motor count and associated wiring costs and facilitates shade alignment. With manual shades, the practice translates to fewer drive chains.

ShadeLoc is a specialized shade assembly that uses side channels to capture the zippered edges of a shadecloth. The system holds the fabric securely in place, resisting the push or pull of air pressure and hiding light gaps for superior room-darkening, solar-shading, or both in the DoubleShade^® configuration.

The system is available with 2½ in. (64mm) center-support channels that enable multi-banding. The multi-banded ShadeLoc is therefore able to provide superior daylight control cost-effectively, even along continuous glazing, such as in a board room.
